Dixie arrived at the Centre in 2022 alongside her brother, Bantay. Having spent most of her life chained up in a front yard with no formal training or socialisation, Dixie was understandably cautious. While her brother’s journey focused on overcoming insecurity, Dixie’s story is one of discovery—learning for the first time what it means to be off a chain and part of a pack.

Finding Her Voice Naturally quiet and observant, Dixie is the perfect balance to her brother’s more vocal personality. While she still shares a deep bond with Bantay, our kennelmates have worked tirelessly to help her develop her own independence. Through the invaluable behavioural work at the Centre, Dixie has learned to truly enjoy the company of other dogs, transforming from a lonely “yard dog” into a social, happy member of our resident community.
