The Road to Rehabilitation A significant part of Cooper’s journey has been dedicated training. Because he was so starved of affection in the past, he initially struggled with boundaries—ultimately wanting to jump up and “kiss” everyone he met! Through the incredible patience of our kennelmates, Cooper has been learning to channel his energy. We have focused on trust-based training, teaching him to focus on his handler and come when called.

Progress and Play In his early days at the Centre, Cooper had to play solo to ensure he didn’t overwhelm the other dogs with his enthusiasm. However, he has made such fantastic progress that he is now a social butterfly. Seeing him run and play freely with our other resident dogs in the Enrichment Park is a joy, especially knowing how long he spent at the end of a chain. Cooper is now a well-adjusted, loving dog who is simply waiting for the right person to give him the “forever” love he deserves.
