Sponsor Kilay
Kilay’s journey to the Centre was a race against time. Along with her best friend, Skinless, she was one of our very first residents, rescued from the Angeles Dog Pound in Pampanga just as she was about to be put to sleep. When we found her, she was dangerously weak and thin. The noise and aggression of the pound had overwhelmed her, and she had simply stopped eating out of sheer fear.
Age: 9 years old
Personality: Intelligent, loyal, and the devoted “Mother” of the Centre.
Healing the Spirit Beyond being riddled with ticks that were hidden deep within her coat, Kilay’s greatest wound was her anxiety. She needed more than just medicine; she needed to feel safe. Under the dedicated care of our team, Kilay slowly began to trust again. It was through this patient, one-on-one attention that her appetite returned and her spirit finally began to thrive.
The Heart of the Pack Today, Kilay is known as the “Mother” of the Centre. She has a deeply loving and loyal nature, often taking a protective interest in the other dogs. She still shares her kennel with her bestie, Skinless, and their bond remains as strong as the day they were rescued. She is an intelligent, soulful dog who reminds us every day that even the most broken spirit can find peace.
