IWCT goes ‘back to school!’

The future of animal welfare is in good hands! This week, IWCT had the wonderful privilege of attending the Animal Eco-Fair at a local primary school. Annan School is a mixed Independent primary school, and their Eco School committee organised a day filled with curiosity, compassion, and a shared goal: protecting our planet’s most vulnerable inhabitants.

Our team spent the day chatting with pupils about the vital link between domestic animal care and broader conservation efforts in the Philippines. From explaining how our mobile clinics work to discussing why every dog deserves a healthy life, the answers and interest from the pupils was truly inspiring.

Why Education Matters At IWCT, we believe that treating animals is only half the battle; the other half is teaching. By visiting schools like Annan, we are planting seeds of empathy that will grow into a lifetime of advocacy for animals.

Highlights from the Fair:

  • Interactive Q&A: The students asked brilliant questions about how we transport supplies to remote Philippine islands, and how we help our rescues get back to health!
  • Learning through Play: Our handouts included some fun true-or-false questions and a bumper wordsearch!
  • The Power of Youth: Seeing the creative ways students are thinking about animal welfare.

A huge thank you to Annan School for welcoming us. It’s days like these that remind us why our mission is so critical—not just for the animals of today, but for the world of tomorrow.

We gave out as part of our leaflet, a handy wordsearch ‘put together’ by our very own Barker! If you’d like to print a copy for your children, please use the download button below.
