Our Centre dogs are looking for sponsors!
At IWCT we’re so proud to be able to help an incredible amount of dogs, from rescues in need of a new start, to family pets. For most of these four-legged friends, their stay with us is temporary rest & recovery while we treat their issues, but this isn’t always the case!
Our centre dogs (whom many of you already know and love – and some of you even have firm favourites!) found their way to us through a variety of means, and were made full-time residents after their initial healing.
Sometimes this may have been because we felt they needed extra care and attention than a standard family home might be able to provide, but oftentimes it’s because our centre team fell in love with them too much to be able to let them go!
Take Dixie for example. Brought to the centre alongside her brother Bantay, Dixie was a cautious soul who’d spent much of her life chained up in her former owner’s front yard.
And while Bantay was quick to find his voice, and assert himself as a loud and proud member of our residents, Dixie required months of careful work with our patient kennelmates to ensure she could feel comfortable around other people, as well as dogs, once more.
With time and careful training, she grew into her home and is now well-suited to life at the centre, while retaining her calm and gentle presence.
For 2026 we’re looking to increase sponsorship for our dogs. We’ve updated the sponsorship section of our website so that our generous donors can truly learn and appreciate the miraculous journey our lovable centre dogs have been on.
