How you can help IWCT at Christmas

By Kaytie Grant

There are many ways you can help IWCT at Christmas and we are grateful for every single person who shows support or makes a donation. We have listed some things which will all make a difference wherever you are in the world, whether you have nothing to give, a little or a lot.

Help IWCT by following us on social media and sharing our posts

Hopefully you already follow IWCT UK and / or IWCT Philippines on Instagram and Facebook. If not, head over and give us a follow. When you see our posts, please “like” or double tap them and if you can, share them to your own audience. This helps more people see the work we do and leads to more followers.

This is particularly important at Christmas when typically, we could reach less people as less are online, boycotting social media as a New Years Resolution or because more people are posting about their Christmas and our audience may be missing our own posts.

You could even consider making a Christmas Fundraiser on Facebook for IWCT. Instead of asking for presents, you could ask for donations to support our cause.

Helping IWCT with social media shares at Christmas doesn’t cost you anything, but means a lot to us.

Help IWCT with free donations when you buy Christmas presents online

For our supporters in the UK, you can help IWCT for free when you do your online Christmas shopping using platforms such as Give As You Live or Easyfundraising. Simply create a free account and choose “International Wildlife Coalition Trust” as your charity to support when you shop. All you need to do then is search for 1000’s of retailers in the GAYL or EF app or on their websites and click on your chosen one to be taken to their site. That way, your shop with them gets logged and the retailer gives a percentage of their profit from your shop to us.

Alternatively, you can install the donation reminder, which appears on search results. So if you searched for “Christmas gifts for girls” the shops who donate using Giving As You Live or Easyfundraising will have an icon next to them stating that they do.

For each online shop, you raise a small amount for us, at no cost to you. These small donations really start adding up to make a big difference to our available funds to run clinics, spay animals and provide rabies vaccinations.

Give a gift in kind to help the team at IWCT

If you are in the Philippines, we welcome and appreciate gifts in kind to support our activities at the Treatment Centre. This includes rice for the kennelmates, dog food for the rescue dogs or cleaning products to maintain the Centre. Items can be delivered on Tuesday or Saturday morning during our clinic. Please see our contact page for the address.

Make a small, one of donation to help IWCT this Christmas

Christmas is the time for giving, and that doesn’t have to be presents. A small, one off donation from as little as £1, $1 or PHP70 is an amazing start to charitable giving. If you’ve never given a donation before, please consider a small gift to us to help support the 100’s of dogs we see in need every week.

Small donations help pay for a rabies vaccine at our clinics and dog food for the strays we visit. It might not seem like a lot, but it has a big impact on our mission. From our donation page, you can choose to donate in the above currencies or using PayPal.

Consider a regular donation to IWCT

A standing order of a regular donation, no matter the value, is a massive help to IWCT. We’ve previously stated that we have to reduce our clinic schedule in 2025 due to lack of funds. However, predicting future donations through regular giving allows us to plan ahead and give us the best chance of supporting low income dog owners and pets in need for years to come.

Standing orders start at just £3 a month, that’s less than a coffee and only £36 a year.

Donate a larger gift this Christmas to help IWCT

If you are in a position to be able to, please consider giving a little more this Christmas. If you receive our postal newsletter, you will notice we have reduced the number of communications per year. This is to save on postage costs. Therefore you may have given a smaller amount more regularly. As a one off, please consider giving a little more. Every time we take on a new rescue dog, the cost to care for them exceeds £350, and that’s just the first three months of rehabilitation.

Leave a gift in your will for IWCT

If you’ve supported us for a while, perhaps you might consider leaving us a gift in your Will? Legacies are substantial gifts which help fund things like the build of our new Treatment Centre and kennel construction. Help IWCT for years to come with a lasting gift. Please see our Legacies page for more info on how to include IWCT in your will.

Thank you for your support, however big or small. We wish you a very Merry Christmas.

If you follow us on social media, you will have seen that our CEO Kaytie has recently completed a visit to the Philippines. Kaytie has documented her visit in diary form, read it in this blog.
Halloween is a great time for dressing up, trick or treating and being with family. In this blog we share some ways your dog can safely join in the fun too.
Our CEO Kaytie is returning to the Treatment Centre in the Philippines for the first time in nearly two years. Whilst there will be fun with the rescue dogs in the Enrichment Park, the future of our clinics needs careful consultation with the team.
