Free ways to raise during the cost of living crisis

By Kaytie Grant

We understand that times are tough in the UK with the rising cost of living. Many households are tightening their belts or making sacrifices to cover the cost of energy bills and get through the winter.

We also understand that charities are under more pressure – there is a greater need for help coupled with greater resistance of supporters to donate. Sadly, we are also aware that animal charities and shelters are at capacity, as more families are giving up their pet during these difficult times.

It is the same situation in the Philippines. Covid restrictions were slower to be lifted and as such, schools are just beginning to re-open. We too have seen an increase in the cost of fuel, animal feed and veterinary supplies. Therefore the costs to conduct a spay/neuter clinic and rescue and rehabilitate a dog are higher – but so is the demand.

Whilst we continue to encourage our supporters to donate what they can do to help our campaigns in the Philippines (for even little donations still make a big difference there), there are other ways you can help us at no cost to you….

Easyfundraising or Give As You Live

Signing up to support the International Wildlife Coalition Trust through these online platforms will also generate free funds for us when you shop online at 1000’s of stores. From everyday groceries to department stores, clothes shops and even when buying insurance. The company you shop with online will donate a % of their profits of their sale to you to us, at no cost to you.

You can sign up to support us through Give As You Live here

If you sign up to support us via Easyfundraising, you don’t need to visit their site every time you want to shop online first. By downloading the handy donation alert once you are registered with them to support us, every time you do a Google search you will be notified which retailers will donate to us if you spend with them.
You can sign up to support us through Easyfundraising here.

To date, we’ve received nearly £1,200 in free donations from online retailers as a result of supporters signing up to these platforms to support us when they shop. If every supporter did this we would be in a much more comfortable position in these uncertain times. We’d hate to turn away a dog in need due to insufficient funds.

Just choosing to follow us on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok will increase awareness about what we do. Every like, share, comment or save will help us reach more people.

If you are in a position to make a regular donation, you can do so here.

Thank you.
