It is only thanks to the generosity of supporters like you that we’re able to help dogs, many of whom are without a home, having been rescued or seized. To show you what you have made possible, we wanted to feature the stories of some of the dogs we’ve helped in 2019.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Sunshine has made miraculous progress which we wanted to share with you. Without the support of our team, Sunshine may well not have survived and she would definitely not be the happy and healthy girl we see today.
With very limited veterinary resources in the Philippines, IWCT is attempting to help local farmers to care for their Carabao. The Carabao are an integral to the Filipino economy and ingrained into Filipino culture. Without them, farmers livelihoods would be under serious threat.
On the 29th of March we held out first official Adoption Day at the Angeles Dog Pound where we now have two IWCT pens for any rescued dogs that we think we can re-home. We hope that this was the first of many adoption days so that we can continue to help very deserving dogs find new and loving homes!
Renovations began in early May to convert this small property into a temporary home for poorly dogs. We’ve made fantastic progress and are now ready to start taking in dogs, offering them veterinary treatment and care that they so desperately need.
Meet Sunshine, an Askal dog rescued from the streets by the IWCT team in the Philippines. When she was found Sunshine was horribly malnourished and suffering from mange. Horrifically, Sunshine was also being abused by people throwing stones and kicking her yet she was too weak to defend herself.
